PIT - the sophomore release from UNSAY on AmbrosiA NYC - is both the continuation and sister release to 2019's VIRGINITY. Together, the two EPs loosely narrate an autobiographical Persephone myth - a descent into the underworld, and thus, the promise of rebirth. PIT seeks to communicate the dull, deep pain in the pit of one's stomach and the black seed of sadness that sprouts there. It is also a reference to the mosh pit, with its ecstatic, cathartic bursts of kinetic energy, and its often violent healing power. With a focus on physicality, drawing heavy influence from the transcendental effects of binaural beats, isochronic healing tones, and ASMR, UNSAY's "Fifth Dimensional Drum and Bass" seeks to push the limits of the listener, the medium, and the speaker system. Taking its titles from the 14th century text, "The Cloud of Unknowing," which asserts that only by surrendering to "unknowing" can one become closer to God, PIT soundtracks the patience and pain of trusting divine timing and higher order. Like the bud of a flower, waiting to burst forth and rise towards the sun, UNSAY seeks to ascend sonically, spiritually, and within the realm of modern music.
